Pregnancy, Labor and Childbirth are the greatest feats on our journey to motherhood.
The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.
Women have been serving others in childbirth for many centuries and have proven that support from another woman has a positive impact on childbirth.
A postpartum doula will do everything to educate and care for the mom, partner, baby, home and siblings. We help your home run smoothly as you make this transition, from laundry, dishes, light housework, meal preparation, food shopping, sibling support and guidance, to education, and newborn care overnight to help you get well rested for the next day.
Breastfeeding (Lactation) Counselors have the opportunity to make a real difference to the families they work with. Breastfeeding counselor training will enable you to assist clients to overcome breastfeeding difficulties, building a close relationship with those you are working with, and knowing that with your support, you can help a parent and baby gain the benefits of breastfeeding.

My name is Stephanie. I am certified with the International Doula Institute and will continue my education. I love being a doula because it gives me the opportunity to support, educate, and be a part of a woman's journey of childbirth. This is a wonderful and exciting time in your life and I can't wait to help. I am a stay at home mom of five wonderful children and have been happily married to my husband John for 21 years. I am honest, responsible, caring and organized. These characteristics give me the skills as a doula to be my best in supporting my clients. I am very active in my children's school organizations and our church and community outreach programs. I love spending time with my family when I am not working.
Evidence has shown there are many proven benefits to having a doula.
